Ohio City Bicycle Co-op Social Rides are on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am-noon. These free, slow-paced (5-10 mph) rides have themes such as “Underground Railroad” or “Public Art.” The next will be Saturday, June 4. Century Cycles Towpath Monthly Night Rides these free rides start at 8 pm and take 1.5-2 hours. The June 4 ride includes a free night of camping if you bike with your gear. INFO.
Sunday in June is organized by the Cleveland Touring Club. This year it’s on Sunday, June 12 and starts from Century Village in Burton. This is a fully supported classic tour through the heart of Northeast Ohio’s Amish countryside. The ride includes rest stops, well-marked roads, maps and SAG support. Distances are 26, 40, 50, 66 and 102 miles over rolling to hilly terrain on the rural roads of scenic Geauga County. Bicyclists can leave as early as 6:30 am, $35 per rider, advanced registration is recommended. INFO.
A presentation on Sustainable Cuyahoga: A toolkit of recommended best practices for cities in Cuyahoga County on Monday, June 13, 6:30 pm at the Lee Road Library (2345 Lee Road, CH). Learn about this new guidebook from Cuyahoga County Director of Sustainability, Mike Foley, in partnership with David Beach, Executive Director of the GreenCityBlueLake Institute. You can bet bicycling is a part of it!
Cleveland Velodrome’s Father’s Day Ride to the Hofbrauhaus is a 10+ mile ride on Sunday, June 19. Registration starts at 9 am with ride departure at 11 am. It’s free, but donations to the Velodrome are appreciated. INFO.
