Your Input is Needed on Eastside Greenway Plan
Please join the Heights Bicycle Coalition at Nighttown on Tuesday, October 14, at 7 p.m., to hear about the latest plans for the Cuyahoga County Eastside Greenway to connect eastside communities through a safe and convenient bike and pedestrian network. The goal of the proposed greenway is to create a unified trail network that can support alternative means of transportation. The network will close gaps between existing trail segments.
Engineers and planners working on the project will present the plan and ask for citizen input. Planners expect to have a draft plan in the summer of 2015.
Ultimately, the completed network will connect the east side of Cleveland and 19 east side suburbs. The Eastside Greenway will enhance transportation and recreation and boost economic and social opportunities.
Along with Heights Bicycle Coalition, also participating in the meeting will be bicycle advocates from Bike Shaker and Bike Cleveland, and a public health official from the Cuyahoga County Public Health Department.
Nighttown is located at 12387 Cedar Road in the Cedar Fairmount District of Cleveland Heights.
Please join us to learn about the greenway plan, help make the plan stronger and enjoy food and drinks with other cyclists.
This meeting was a great success, with more that 35 engaged people learning about the Eastside Greenway and providing observations and suggestions. Hopefully we can build on the interest and help make the most of the tremendous opportunity that planning for an Eastside Greenway presents.
